Mmmm, very sorry to see Hyped go! He was one of the old guard. I wish him luck.
To be perfectly honest, there are two basic flaws with this game, firstly, the clan chat is well below standard as far as other games are concerned, which hampers communication. In other games there are systems where you can have private communication, have Email conversations etc, but this is not supported in this game & hence communication is always going to be a problem. Secondly, trophies actually mean nothing whatsoever. So, you can trophy push & get into a higher league, but what do you gain? It doesn't help you get more loot, it doesn't get your troops or defences done quicker, in fact quite the opposite, it takes you into a zone where you will lose more loot per attack & actually slow your advance down. On top of that, if you trophy push it actually costs quite a good deal in resources to do & last time we pushed I ran out of elixir & it took quite a while to get back to where I was before we started.
With regards to war.... We will improve if we practice more. But as Red said our defences need to improve & it seems we don't learn from previous wars.... i.e. If our base is three starred by a hog attack we should try to make alterations for the next war. I very rarely see that happening. In the last war, many of the oppositions bases had good antihog designs, plus they were quite good with aerial defence too. So, as Red said, if we are serious about wars then we need to get our war bases better. As far as offence is concerned, I believe it has got harder since the last "balancing" update with the changes to hog damage & the heroes. We may need to rethink our attack strategies & perhaps practice them in normal play. I do feel however, that it is difficult to get the balance right between farming & warring, & if we want to be a warring clan & war all the time then it will be difficult to farm too. On the whole, we do not gem much in here & that is to be commended, but I suppose it does hamstring us to a certain extent because maybe our troops lag behind a little.
Looking at our war stats we win one then lose one. Of course this is exactly how the matchmaking system should working! It matches us against similar strength clans.... Sometimes they are weaker & sometimes they are stronger & the fact that we win exactly 50% suggests that the matchmaking is working perfectly. If we want to win more wars, we need to improve our participation. We will never win wars if people don't use both their attacks... Ok, there will be the odd occasion where real life crap gets in the way & that has to be accepted, but each & every attack must be made to count! We do have a tendency to be a little over ambitious in our attacks & try to take on enemies much higher. This may not be a good strategy since those attacks very rarely get 3 stars & that means a wasted attack & lost opportunity. In the last war, the enemy stuck strictly to using their first attack to take on their equals & then used their second attacks to mop up lower down. As it turned out, that worked well for them. We seem to have the problem that we don't maximise the lower guy's attacks. If we can get that working a bit better it would certainly improve things. If everyone got a total of 3 stars from both attacks we would get maximum stars!
Anyway..... I think I've said enough for the moment & will wait to hear what others think.
