This is where the war can be won or lost.
There is a peculiar situation in that most clans are made up with peeps at different levels of experience, village development and troop research and this is recognised by the way the battlefield is laid out with the strongest at the top & weakest at the bottom. So when we are matched up against another clan they are also arranged in the same way. If you are a player who is right at the bottom of the list your possible targets are very limited & your chance of maximising your stars is by attacking the one at your level at the one above you. If some bright spark from the middle order decides to attack the bottom person from the enemy & does indeed 3 star them they have scored a hollow victory by reducing the chances of the peeps below him getting stars. So I suggest that the bottom half of the clan try to attack their equal with their first attack. With their second attack they can pick either the one above or the one below them, that way we can maximise the number of stars we get from the lower members of the clan.
The star system seems to cause some confusion with a few members too. So here is a quick explanation...
We can get a maximum of 3 stars from 1 enemy base. The number of stars that is allocated to our total is from the BEST attack on a base. So if a base has already been 3 starred it is absolutely pointless to attack it again even if you do 3 star it we as a clan will not get anymore stars towards our total. We have seen over the last couple of wars people going to attack bases that have already been 3 starred - this is an absolute No No! We have been lenient in the past because we have all been learning, but there is no excuse for doing this & if I see it happening again in future wars the offender will be booted. There is only 1 occasion where this can be acceptable & that is with the approval off the leader or a co-leader, and if we are so far ahead that stars are not so important, we may allow a lower member to attack someone who has been 3 starred in the later stages of the war & has his/her TH outside walls so they can get a 1 star & win a big loot bonus. That is the only occasion I can think of where this is acceptable & then you need to ask.
Similarly, if a base has already been 2 starred think very carefully about attacking it again. If you do attack it, you better be pretty sure you can 3 star it or else it would be better to try another target. If you're not sure, then ask. There's usually someone on who can help. We are in it to win it & we need to help each other to achieve this goal.
I think we need to divide the Battle day into two 12 hr sections. In the first 12 hrs everyone from the lower half of the list should try to get their raids in. In the second section the upper half need to maximise the remaining stars available, whether that be attacking unbeaten bases or converting 1 stars into 3 stars depends on the way the war is going. If in doubt, Ask!
So, to summarise :-
1) Don't attack enemies too far below you
2) Don't attack bases that have already been 3 starred or you will be Booted
3) Think carefully and/or discuss with an elder about attacking a base with 2 stars
4) Only attack bases that have been 1 starred if you are sure you can convert it to a 3 star AND if people below you have had their goes
5) Lower half of clan to do their attacks in the first 12 hrs if possible (might be difficult with time differences etc)
6) Upper half of clan to attack in the last 12 hrs with the purpose of maximising stars gained
I hope this has helped people crystalise their thoughts about clan wars & that my suggestions will help us win again & again & again lol
Any thoughts/comments/suggestions welcomed
